God is great!

I believe that I have heard of other icons being 'self-restored' before. I wish I could see them.

Thanks for sharing this article.

OH MY!

I had to stop looking for a bit.

That one that still has the icon of Christ standing is so wonderful. He will be triumphant!!!

They are continuing the destruction that they did to the Hegi Sophia, nothing has changed.

That surely is something to wonder about - God is restoring icons while muslims are destroying churches.

Pictures of the holy sites are terrible, just terrible.

To All,

You know we are to blame for what happened in Kosovo. If I recall correctly the only one that stood fast against the war was the Evangelical Dr. Pat Robertson. He said the Albanian terrorists were terrorizing the Serbs and forcing them to leave.

Of course we all know what happened. When the Serbs retaliated against the Muslims in the same fashion, CNN started it's propaganda, and our nation was up in arms and ready to go to war against Serbia.

Bill Clinton gave his guarantee that the minority Serbs have nothing to fear, and that Kosovo will remain part of Serbia and they will live in peace and guarded by the U.N.

Well so much for the U.N. The Serbs have been leaving out of fear, and all the churches and monasteries have been destroyed. The terrorists are demanding independance, and no doubt if it gets it, it will unite with Albania.

Now if I recall, many European nations were fearful of having a Muslim nation in the midst of Europe. Oh well, so much for Clinton and his promises. Notice how much we hear about the failure of Kosovo these days.

I hope you will forgive me my scepticism about this; perhaps a remnant of the historic Latin scepticism, which in MHO has served them well....

You know Daniel, you made me think. If the Latin Church has statues that weep - it's not that hard to believe that in the Eastern Church God would allow these miraculous happenings to occur through icons. Seems like He would make use of whatever means we have.

That is true, Rose, but it is also true that the Latin Church is hesitant to declare anything miraculous until it has been thoroughly tested, a wise policy.
