I found the bio at this website:
http://www.suc.org/prolog/prolog.cgi It's a website for the Serbian Orthodox Church Diocese of Western America.
Briefly, Peter was a Greek soldier. During a battle with the Arabs he was captured and imprisoned at Samara on the Euphrates River. He prayed that if he was released he would take up a life of prayerful asceticism. St. Simeon and St. Nicholas appered to him in prison and removed his chains. He fled to Rome and was tonsured a monk by the Pope at the tomb of St. Peter. The Theotokos and St. Nicholas appeared to him again and told him to go to Mt. Athos, where he lived in a cave for 53 years enduring temptations and torments. A deer hunter discovered him and heard his life story. A year later he died, ca. A.D. 734.
Feast Day June 12. Roman Church has him patron of court cases and captives.
That's all I know, no birth date, no birth place.
