I am wondering if icons of Blessed Basil Hopko, and other recently beatified Byzantine martyrs, are available. I have one of Blessed Theodor Romzha, which was given to me. It came from the seminary store in Pittsburgh, but I have yet to find a source for the others.

SLAVA ISUSU CHRISTU!

Hi Jim,

Get in touch with Fr. Michael Shear from St. Ann's Byzantine Parish in Harrisburg,PA.

He has ikons of the martyred Bishops for sale. He commissioned ikons to be written a few years ago and they do have a wonderful shrine to the Bishops in their church.

You will find their address in the directory of this Forum.

Hope this helps...

I second Mark's recommendation. The icons from Harrisburg are first rate. I believe they had large plaques, small plaques and holy cards made. I have a few of the latter. I don't know if they have Bl. Basil Hopko; the only ones I have are Bl. Teodor and Bl. Paul.

I never really knew much about Bl. Basil Hopko, but I've been trying to learn more ever since I was given a second class relic of him. From what I have heard, though, I am impressed.

For those interested in more information on Blessed Basil, the latest Metropolia newsletter, "The Byzantine Catholic World", has an article with pictures from Slovakia where Blessed Basil Hopko's relics were enshrined in the Presov cathedral in September, along with other very interesting articles, including one on Bp. Babjak from Presov, who recently visited Pittsburgh.

Slava Isusu Kristu,

You may also wish to contact Br. Mark at Holy Trinity Monastery in Butler, PA.
They have a rather well stocked Icon store with several Ruthenian Saints.

Thanks for the suggestions as to where to try to locate the icons. I have e-mailed St. Ann's Church in Harrisburg. If they are not able to help me, I will call Holy Trinity Monastery (I wish they had a website.).

I spoke with Fr. Michael in Harrisburg yesterday. An icon of Blessed Basil Hopko is not currently available, but he suggested I check back in a few months. I will.
