Pani Rose,

It is a Greek custom, and Alice can probably back me on this, if you have lost something, to supplicate Saint Phanourios to intercede and help you find it. When the item is recovered, you are to bake a special sweet cake and give it as an offering in honor of the saint. I have been the recepient of this treat on a couple of occasions, and I have had to do so on one occasion.

Saint Phanourios definitely is the patron intercessor for those lost and their recovery.

In IC XC,
Father Anthony+

Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai

That is so cool!

I was talking with Marian last night in chat and he said there is an Akathist hymn for him. I had sent his info to a chat friend in Canada, who's cousin that has an alcohol and drug problem could not be found. The next day the cousin called my friend, she was in another part of the country.

So St. Fanourios was working really fast...I will tell Liz of the cake, she will love doing that. In fact I had found a recipe for it and posted it in the fasting, so it even makes more sence now. And the fact that you can have it during the fast makes it even better biggrin . Here is the link to it

Scroll down to my last post on it. Before Anhylea who is thinking of soup and beer bread - man, she is ready to fast biggrin biggrin biggrin
