Dear Broric,

Eastern Christians do not call the Most Holy Theotokos "Co-redeemer." That is a western term.

And what is the difference between "heretical" and "false teaching?"

The Catholic Church has approved of all of St Louis' teachings.

No one is forced to read him, of course. If you don't like him, you don't have to read him.

But everything he said can be found in the liturgical tradition of the Eastern Churches, that goes beyond what even St Louis would say, when it prays: Most Holy Mother of God, save us!

And who but Jesus may save? Her role is above that of all angels and saints because of her direct role in the Incarnation of Christ God. That is all.

As one Eastern Church Father sang, "Devotion to you, O Mary, is a gift that God gives to those He wishes to save!"

Devotion to Mary is always a way to honour the Incarnation of Christ.

When the Protestants were throwing out images of Mary (and I am NOT comparing you to them), one of them had a vision in which Mary told him, "Do you want to throw me out of the Church too? If you do, I will take my Son that I hold in my hands, I will not let him go. And you will have a Church without Jesus."

There is no evidence of what you say as the church approving the teachings of st. lious. They have not be condemend because they are border line do to the touchy subject. But they teach the neccesaty of redemtion through Mary to Jesus. This is not true! The roman rite does not offical recognize this as authoatative. Its some more teachings of a well know saint. Also, the roman rite has no offical dogma of co redemer. It is being falsley propagated amongst clery and lay people thats why I oppose the marian movment of priests. Devotion to our lady is a wonderfull thing, but to teach that she is a means of redemption is wrong. The roman dogma of the immaculate conception cleary states she was the first to be redeemed.

I found this on-line and thoughts I would share it with the membership.

His Beatitude (Cardinal) Ignace Moussa I. Daoud
Patriarch Emeritus of Antioch for the Catholic Syrians Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
We are very happy to know that the Marian Movement of Priests founded by the Reverend Father Stefano Gobbi, who continues to direct it, has reached the Middle East, and that many priests of our Oriental Churches form part of its membership.

The cenacles of prayer that the priests hold among themselves and with the faithful, in churches and shrines, call down many graces upon them, and increase their faithfulness to their vocation and their zeal for the salvation of souls.

On the occasion of the publication of the third Arabic edition of the "Blue Book", which contains the inspired messages of the Blessed Mother to Fr. Gobbi, we encourage the oriental priests and faithful to master it, to follow the directives and counsels of the Blessed Virgin, and to listen to her continual call: "Do whatever He tells you."

These are the children of Mary who will be clothed in the grace of God in the moments of difficulties and trials, trusting in the sure promise of the Blessed Mother, "In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph."

We therefore invite all the members of the Marian Movement of Priests to this filial obedience to the Son Redeemer, as we bestow upon you our apostolic blessing.
