http://uk.geocities.com/church_of_rockall/patriarch.html Are these people for real? "the baptismal water in the font had transmuted into gin; and the relics of St. Potomania, quitting their shrine, had climbed into the organ loft and started playing a selection of tunes from Chicago."

Has The Onion Dome been beaten? http://uk.geocities.com/church_of_rockall/scpoed.html Quercodendritic Heresy[1], [1] This is the vile doctrine, brewed for the destruction of souls in Beelzebubs fountain of abominations, which maintains that St. David the Dendrite did not live, as all the Orthodox believe, in an almond tree in Thessalonika for 70 years, but instead took up residence in an oak tree.

I thought that it might be real until I got through a few pages of it and it showed it's true colors!

I am unreliably informed that the Patriarchal Polychronion consists of the Wolfe Tones rendering the anthem Rock on, Rockall in Old Celtic - a capella, of course, but with lashing waves in the background.

Christ Is Risen!
Brethren, let us all pray for our bishops and priests as they gather together in these next few weeks. I sincerely hope that they will be guided by the Holy Spirit and common sense, to reject the Abridged New Liturgy (ANL) out right. Many well reasoned arguments have been made against the ANL, and I fear some clergy have suffered under their bishops for speaking the truth. They have my sincerest respect.
Fr. David has been the lone voice in defense of the ANL, sad to say. He truly is a scholar of the liturgy, but then again, all academic scholars are subject to peer review, and I think this is were things went awry. I would venture a guess that there was no review and the liturgy commission was filled with people who would conform and not challenge. Lets start over again, this time with the best of intentions, using the instructions Rome gave us, and in collaboration with others who share the same recension, Catholic and Orthodox.
Does the ANL conform to what Rome has told us to do for over 60 years? No, weve been privy to too many bishops who blatantly ignored Romes guidance, and weve suffered terribly as a result.
Pray, pray, very long and hard.

<snip> Archpriest Chromoga was a staunch supporter of the Ruthenian Recension, and was the chief advisor in Bishop Emil's "pastoral" promulgation of the Liturgy in 1970. Fr. Vancik, with whom I worked was likewise a staunch supporter of the recension, but assisted Bishop Andrew in his "pastoral" promulgation in Parma in 1987, which action he repeated in Passaic in 1996. These were provisional until the Liturgy would be normalized in a form reviewed and "approved" by Rome for the whole Metropolia. Before this topic disappears entirely would it be possible for someone, anyone, to fill in a bit more on this history and these people mentioned above? The Liturgy is complete, except for the three verses of the Antiphons, the Small Litanies and the Litany after the Great Entrance (cf. Robert Taft, The Great Entrance, page 428, point 7). This is basically the way it is being done in Parma, Van Nuys and Passaic now and for many years. [Aside to John Damascene, where were all these priests protesting what you call the "Petras/Pataki" Liturgy in 1987 and 1996? By the way, it is not "my" Liturgy in any way, I've worked for over 20 yearswith two separately constituted Liturgy Commissions with a number of members, with the entiure Council of Hierarchs, past and present and with the Oriental Congregation.] The "Ruthenian Recension" is clearly the "Russian Recension." Cyril Korolevsky was clear on that in his votum to the Oriental Congregation. Lest another storm of protest arise over this and lest I give any support whatsoever to the group that wants to retain the hybrid Liturgy of the 1905 Sluzhebnik, let me say that Korolevsky did what was most logical and his efforts were certainly the best effort at restoring the Ruthenian Liturgy to its purity... This is also a bit confusing as well. Is the Ruthenian Recension as it is referred to here a liturgical construction pieced together within the walls of the Vatican? Or is it, as referred to here taken from it's pastoral source in the parishes of Ruthenia? How did the Russian use become a part of the Ruthenian liturgical heritage? Did that happen here in the U.S. or did it begin in the old country and how did it happen? When one speaks of the Ruthenian recension here, is one speaking of the liturgical text? chant? and rubrics? any one of the elements? all of the elements together? It sounds to me in Father David's presentation here as though a Russian text and perhaps a set of rubrics were set to Ruthenian chant?...or something like that. It is a bit confusing to me. With prayers and good will, Eli

Incognitus I have been patient these many years, Father. Most of the night was spent awake and I was having difficulty getting to sleep, so I got to thinking. And you know where that leads. Forgive. Eli

Incognitus That sweet lass o'the Isle, St. Hollikin Twolips. I'm pretty certain she belonged to the Ancient Order of Rhododendrites. Or maybe she was from the Order of Discalced Disendendrites. I can't recall precisely at the moment. Do you know anything at all about these liturgical issues? Eli

St Hollikins the one who died in the odour of sanctity. We know this as it is recorded in the ancient book of her ancient order that she stank to high heaven. ICXC NIKA
