I am interested in knowing the differences between the Orthodox Ecclesiology and Catholic. Also, in what aspects do Byzantine Catholic share the ecclesiology of the Orthodox Church.

Broric,

Thank you for starting this thread.

1. I would like to ask you to refrain from using the term “uniate” on this forum since it is considered to be a pejorative and is generally used to describe Byzantine Catholics in a negative light.

2. What evidence can you present that Byzantine Catholics are not allowed to retain traditional Byzantine ecclesiology? If you have no evidence to offer perhaps you might rephrase your question to read: “Is there a difference between Byzantine Catholic and Orthodox ecclesiology and, if so, what is this difference?”

I suggest that you give great care to how you are wording your questions. From the way you posted your question it seems that you have already rendered the topic in a light that is unfavorable to Byzantine Catholics by assuming the worst rather than the best.

Read:

"The Primacy of Peter" edited by John Meyendorff,
"Eucharist, Bishop, Church" by John Zizioulas
and "Being and Communion" by John Zizioulas and you'll clearly understand the differences.
