For anyone on this list that is living in the Triangle area of North Carolina, a new parish is being established by the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Saint Josophat in Parma, Ohio. Our parish name is Sts.Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church. We have begun having Divine Liturgy every Sunday at a temporary location, which could change, so any information given out now concerning Liturgy times or place might be undependable. This is good and interesting news! Do you, by any chance, know Fr. Richard Rohrer who is the Ruthenian pastor of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Byzantine Catholic parish in Cary, NC, just next door? One of my friends is a parishioner there. I was told a Ukrainian Deacon of the Parma eparchy would serve there from time to time...maybe it is the same one.
I am from England, but I hope to be visiting Cary in September. If I am there, I will be visiting the new Ukrainian parish!

Yes--I know Father Rick Rohrer and was a member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Cary for a little over 4 years. Mark Shuey is the same deacon who has been serving there. He is now in charge of establishing new parishes in Raleigh adn Charlotte. Right now our liturgies are in English. For the time being it is necessary because the priest we are using, a bi-ritual priest from the local RC diocese, does not speak Ukrainian. That said, my guess is that our main liturgy will remain in English or some combination even when we get a priest assigned from the eparchy. Ultimately though, this will be decided by who ever our permanent priest is.

Last time I checked with my relatives in North Carolina, Ukrainian was not their mother tongue! May St. Cyril and Methodius bless your noble efforts with this mission!
